Basic Linux Command #1

1. Create new user.

Syntax:
#useradd <your-username>
Example:
#useradd sixvel

2. Set or Change User Password.

Syntax:
#passwd <your-username>
<your-password>
Example:
#passwd sixvel
user@123

3.Deleting Directory

Syntax:
#userdel <your-username> => Deletes a user name from the system.
#userdel -rf sixvel => Deletes a user and user in home directory from the system.
Example:
#userdel sixvel
#userdel -rf sixvel

4. Helping Commands

#man – Get Manual Page for your commands which you enter after this system command.
#date – Display Current date eg. Month|Date|Hours|Minutes|Years
#cal – Display Current Month calendar
#info – Information about Commands
#help
#whatis

4. Directory commands

#mkdir <directory-name> – Make Directory
#cd <directory-name> – Change Directory
#ls – List Directory
#ll – Long List Directory
#ls -l – Long List Directory

5. Creating a File

Syntax:
#touch <filename>
Example:
#touch file1
